Lagoon

Lagoon (Japanese: ラグーン, Hepburn: Ragūn) is a top-view action/adventure video game for the X68000 and Super NES, in which Nasir (Nassel in the Japanese version), Champion of Light, must investigate the source of the world's corrupted water and return peace to Lakeland. Lagoon is an action role-playing game with a fantasy setting, very similar to the early Ys games, combining real-time action gameplay with RPG elements such as experience levels and equipment management. The player travels through an assortment of towns, landscapes, and dungeons while battling a variety of enemies ranging from insects to giant bosses, and gaining experience and items along the way.
