Apple designed the Pippin multimedia/game platform and licensed it to third parties; Bandai was the main licensee. ATMARK (Japan, white case) and @WORLD (North America/Europe, black case) are Bandai's own hardware built on that licence - manufacturer is Bandai under licence from Apple, marked here as `licensed`. en.wikipedia gives two different month pairs for the launches (JP 'April 1996' in one place vs 'March 1996' for ATMARK's colour note, and NA 'November 4, 1996' vs 'June 1996' for @WORLD's colour note); both are kept in the release field rather than picking one.
