WonderSwan

Bandai · 3 models · 58 variants · 11 accessories · 256 games

The WonderSwan is a handheld from Bandai, developed with Gunpei Yokoi's company Koto Laboratory; it was the last hardware Yokoi worked on before his death in 1997. It launched in Japan on 4 March 1999, followed by the WonderSwan Color (9 December 2000) and the SwanCrystal (12 July 2002).

The catalog lists more than thirty colours and versions: Pearl White, Blue Metallic, Silver Metallic, the translucent Skeleton Black, Blue, Green and Pink, Frozen Mint, Soda Blue and Sherbet Melon released to mark one million units sold, and Crystal Black, Crystal Blue, Crystal Orange and Pearl Blue for the Color. The console has no built-in headphone jack, so there was an official headphone adapter. Other accessories are the WonderWave infrared adapter, the Mobile WonderGate and the WonderWitch developer kit.
