Famicom clones

Clones · 49 models · 27 variants · 4 accessories

Famiclones are unofficial consoles built around the architecture of the Nintendo Famicom. The catalog covers 1989 to 2002 and well-known names from several countries: the Chinese Subor (Xiaobawang) of 1989, the Terminator 2 sold across the former Eastern Bloc and in Italy and Greece, and the Pegasus distributed in Poland, the Czech Republic and other countries, plus Bitman, Kenga and Jippy.

Many clones came with keyboards, such as the Subor SB-218, SB-286 and SB-486, or were built into a controller. Cartridges are a topic in themselves: the catalog describes a 72-pin to 60-pin adapter that lets NES cartridges run in clones with a 60-pin slot, cartridges with Russian translations from the Elektronika company (1994 to 1995) and the unlicensed N in 1 multi-game cartridges.
