The game runs in a DOS emulator: keyboard and mouse work like on an old PC, each game has its own layout (see the hints in the game). There are no on-screen buttons on a phone.

First click the game screen once: after that the keys go to the game, not the page. To scroll the page again, click outside the game window. If the game does not respond, click the game screen again.

The game runs from the Internet Archive site in their emulator; there are no game files on our servers. We show it so you can get to know it; the rights to the game belong to the rights holders. The built-in player has no volume control: if there is no sound or you need to adjust it, open the game page on Internet Archive, which has sound and full-screen buttons. Description

A-J's Quest is a side-scrolling platformer, based on an early '90s comic strip by the game's author. The game involves exploring several distinct levels, collecting items and equipment, and fighting eccentric monsters, in effort to foil the evil machinations of King Ostro. The character can also collect money, to buy equipment in a store at the end of each level.

Different equipment lends the character, A-J Bear, different attacks of various effectiveness on different monsters. Through most of the game A-J Bear is also trailed by his pet hedgehog, Hedge, who can be of occasional aid against monsters. Depending on the game version, the order, number, and layout of levels may vary. Early versions include secret bonus stages, to be found in each level. Later versions include a more elaborate presentation, extra levels, and significant bug fixes.
