The game runs in a DOS emulator: keyboard and mouse work like on an old PC, each game has its own layout (see the hints in the game). There are no on-screen buttons on a phone.

First click the game screen once: after that the keys go to the game, not the page. To scroll the page again, click outside the game window. If the game does not respond, click the game screen again.

The game runs from the Internet Archive site in their emulator; there are no game files on our servers. We show it so you can get to know it; the rights to the game belong to the rights holders. The built-in player has no volume control: if there is no sound or you need to adjust it, open the game page on Internet Archive, which has sound and full-screen buttons. Description

Probably Bob Bates' most obscure "game," Quandaries is an excellent and unique edutainment titles designed to teach professional ethics to federal agents.

Designed under contract for Ethics Office of the US Department of Justice, Quandaries combines Bates' expertise in storytelling and writing with DoJ's professional experience to create a very interesting and realistic ethics training program. The game can best be described as a "simulation" of a career in the US government. Your goal is to progress from entry-level job (e.g. US Marshall or Immigration Clerk) up through the ranks within your department. There are four starting path (i.e. entry-level job), each of which has five levels of promotion, and each level offers up to five jobs. This makes the game highly re-playable, as there is a maximum of 4 x 5 x 5 = 100 career paths you can take.
