The Mega Modem is a 1,200 bit/s modem for the Mega Drive that powered Sega Meganet, an online service launched in Japan on November 3, 1990. The starter kit cost JPY 12,800 with a JPY 800 monthly fee, and the service reached Brazil in 1995.
