We don’t make things up.The Sega Genesis Mini, known as the Mega Drive Mini in regions outside of North America, is a dedicated console modeled on the Sega Genesis. The Mini emulates the original console's 16-bit hardware, and includes 42 games made available through emulation software by M2. It was released in North America and Japan in September 2019 and in Europe and the Middle East in October 2019. A follow-up, Sega Genesis Mini 2, was released in October 2022 and includes 60 games from the Genesis and Sega CD.

About 55% scale replica of the model 1 Mega Drive, 42 games (40 Mega Drive titles + new ports of Darius and Tetris), emulation by M2, ZUIKI Z7213 SoC, HDMI out, micro-USB power; controllers connect via USB. JP version ships with the USB Fighting Pad 6B; NA/EU versions ship with two 3-button pads (en.wikipedia). Regional versions differ in shell decals and game line-up (JP, Asia, NA, EU). First announced at Sega Fes April 2018, delayed after Sega dropped AtGames. en.wikipedia infobox lists JPY 9,980 - this conflicts with the official JP page (JPY 6,980 excl. tax for 1 pad, 8,980 for W); official price used.
