Release date 1983-12-09 from the sega.jp SC-3000 devices page (timeline has 1983-12). Announced as a higher model in Nikkei Sangyo 1983-12-12 / Game Machine 1984-01-15. The unreleased SC-5000 shown at Micro Computer Show '83 is thought to be its prototype (ja.wikipedia, 4Gamer 2023).
