Estimate: exact units produced unknown.The Sega AI Computer (AIセガコンピュータ) is a home computer launched by Sega in 1986. It was released in Japan only, with plans to be released in North America under the name Sega DI 8300. Its purpose was to be used in schools, and thus featured only edutainment software. The computer used a large rectangular touchpad that was customizable via custom overlays bundled with most of its programs.

Educational home computer for ages 3-8 developed by Sega and CSK Research Institute (about JPY 1 billion development cost, Asahi 1986-07-10), sold by Marubeni with Kumon-supervised courseware. NEC V20 5 MHz, 128 KB ROM with Sega Prolog, 128 KB RAM, Yamaha V9938 (64 KB VRAM), SN76489; pressure-sensitive B5 touch tablet with overlays, cursor pad, microphone, 9600 bps cassette drive, card slot (Sega-card-shaped ROM cards, not compatible with Mark III/Master System), external keyboard included. Date: ja.wikipedia 1986; Sega Retro 1986-03 (Sega company profile 1988); Sega announced it in July 1986 (English trade press). A US release as 'Sega DI 8300' was planned for 1987 but did not happen (Sega Retro; ja.wikipedia infobox lists US 1987, not confirmed). No model code verified.
