SNK was founded in 1973 as Shin Nihon Kikaku. Its main platform was the Neo Geo of 1990, which came in two formats: the MVS arcade board and the AES home console. The company went bankrupt in 2001 and the rights to its games passed to Playmore, later renamed SNK Playmore and in 2016 SNK again.
The catalog has the Neo Geo AES, MVS, Neo Geo CD and Neo Geo Mini, plus the Neo Geo X made by Tommo under licence.
