Description

The Atari 5200 SuperSystem is Atari's home console launched in North America in October 1982 at US$299.95 as a higher-end complement to the Atari 2600, known for its non-centering analog joysticks that often failed. It was discontinued in 1984 after selling over a million units.

Details from sources

Analog non-centering joystick controllers used a weak rubber boot and unreliable flex circuit, widely criticised as making many games nearly unplayable.
