Official Xbox Magazine: Volume 49: October 2005

Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) Demo Disc #49 was released alongside Issue 49 of the magazine in September 2005 (bearing the cover date of October 2005). Highlighting the arrival of major autumn blockbusters, the disc featured interactive playable game demos across open-world action, sci-fi tactical shooters, comic-book action, and racing: Far Cry Instincts (open-world tropical FPS) Ultimate Spider-Man (cel-shaded open-world superhero action) X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse (action-RPG squad brawler) Total Overdose: A Tale in Mexico (over-the-top third-person action shooter) LA Rush (arcade street racer) NHL 06 (hockey simulation) In addition to interactive gameplay, the disc provided downloadable content (DLC) saves and extra media features. Highlights included video trailers and behind-the-scenes previews for upcoming releases such as Call of Duty 2, Star Wars Battlefront II, Gun, and The Matrix: Path of Neo, along with OXM's regular Top Plays of the Month.
