Description

Satellaview (SHVC-029) is a Super Famicom add-on for receiving satellite-broadcast games and data in Japan. Broadcasting began on 23 April 1995 and the set cost 18,000 yen (it was first announced at 14,000 yen). Broadcasts ended on 30 June 2000.

Mail-order only from 1995-02 (deliveries from mid-April 1995); retail sales from 1995-11-01. Attaches to the Super Famicom bottom 28-pin expansion port; not usable with Super Famicom Jr., SNS-101 or SF1. Set components listed in accessories.json (SHVC-028, 030, 031, 032, 033). Timeline lists launch price JPY 14,000 (the Dec 1994 announced price; raised to 18,000 because of AV selector cost).
