A set of Joy-Con consists of two individual units, each containing an analog stick and an array of buttons. They can be used while attached to the main Nintendo Switch console unit, or detached and used wirelessly. When detached, the pair can be used by a single player, or each Joy-Con can serve as an individual controller. A successor, the Joy-Con 2, serve as the primary controllers for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo Japan product page shows the pair with the My Nintendo Store tag. Joy-Con for Nintendo Switch: rail-mounted, HAC-015 (L) / HAC-016 (R). Usable on Switch Lite and Switch 2 wirelessly but not charged by them. JP pair price is the current nintendo.com/jp MSRP; the 2017 launch price is not verified here.
