It was first released in North America on November 10, 2020, for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and the PC through Steam. It was later released in Japan on November 12 and in Europe and Australia on November 20. A mobile game titled Tensui no Sakuna-hime ~Hinuka Junreitan~ was released on February 5, 2026. A spin-off game titled Sakuna Chronicles: Kokorowa and the Gears of Creation is in development.
