The eighth numbered installment in the Ys series, it was first released in Japan for the PlayStation Vita in July 2016. Versions for the PlayStation 4, Windows, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, Google Stadia, and PlayStation 5 followed. The game follows adventurer Adol Christin after the passenger ship Lombardia is wrecked near the Isle of Seiren. Adol searches for the other survivors, develops a settlement with the castaways, and investigates the island while experiencing visions of Dana Iclucia, a woman who lived in an ancient civilization.
