The game runs in a DOS emulator: keyboard and mouse work like on an old PC, each game has its own layout (see the hints in the game). There are no on-screen buttons on a phone.

First click the game screen once: after that the keys go to the game, not the page. To scroll the page again, click outside the game window. If the game does not respond, click the game screen again.

The game runs from the Internet Archive site in their emulator; there are no game files on our servers. We show it so you can get to know it; the rights to the game belong to the rights holders. The built-in player has no volume control: if there is no sound or you need to adjust it, open the game page on Internet Archive, which has sound and full-screen buttons. Description

Freaks is a 3D game for MS/DOS written in 1993 by three Spanish guys - Angel Ortega, Manuel Zamora and Antonio Guerrero using a Wolf3D type of engine. It was released as shareware but now you can download it for free. It's a complete game with 4 big episodes and a great variety of nice looking monsters. In 2002 a remake was started though it's not fully complete.

Some new features were implemented: full angle rotation (not limited to the original 90 degree steps), engine improvements (depth cue lighting, better sounds management), map definitions and some game logic rewritten in a higher-level language (using Filp [3]), more ambientation (rain, lightning storms, etc). The game idea is mostly unchanged; the only difference is that life is not replenished after killing a monster, but after passing over a corpse (as if "feeding" from it).
