The game runs in a DOS emulator: keyboard and mouse work like on an old PC, each game has its own layout (see the hints in the game). There are no on-screen buttons on a phone.

First click the game screen once: after that the keys go to the game, not the page. To scroll the page again, click outside the game window. If the game does not respond, click the game screen again.

The game runs from the Internet Archive site in their emulator; there are no game files on our servers. We show it so you can get to know it; the rights to the game belong to the rights holders. The built-in player has no volume control: if there is no sound or you need to adjust it, open the game page on Internet Archive, which has sound and full-screen buttons. Description

First in Leisuresoft's "Leisureland" adventure game series, Scrooge is an easy adventure game starring Ebeneezer Scrooge, the miser millionaire who lived in the 19th century. Scrooge has a fun premise: it's your job to convince Scrooge to give more than he takes on Christmas day.

Gameplay involves selecting which items to use in each location and what action you want Scrooge to perform from the multiple choices - similar to choose-your-own-adventure books. The huge dose of randomness makes it frustrating, as many items must be used without any prior clues, and many times you will find that items you used in the wrong place cannot be retrieved - no way out but to load the saved games. Still, it's a mildly entertaining game with a good sense of humor if you can stick with it, but anyone looking for a serious and logical adventure should look elsewhere. Good for budding adventurers who are learning to read and don't mind illogical puzzles and random elements.
