It was designed by Eugene Jarvis and programmed by Mark Turmell with similar twin-stick shooter gameplay to Jarvis' 1982 game Robotron: 2084. Versions released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis, Master System, and Game Gear were titled Super Smash TV.
