Mark III add-on with a Yamaha YM2413 (OPLL) FM chip, 9 FM voices, connected to the expansion slot and AV port; first supported by OutRun, about 40 supporting games incl. After Burner and Phantasy Star (sega.jp). Built into the Japanese Master System MK-2000. Using it blocks the SK-1100 (same slot) and the Mark III RGB output; some My Card Mark III games had control problems with it (ja.wikipedia, Sega Retro). Month of release not verified (1987 per Sega Retro).
