Description

The Mega-LD PAC was a module for the Pioneer LaserActive that added Mega Drive, Mega-CD and MEGA-LD laserdisc support. It cost 39,000 yen in Japan (PAC-S1) and US$600 in the US (PAC-S10); the LaserActive itself launched on 20 August 1993.

Licensed Pioneer module (developed with Sega) for the LaserActive CLD-A100 (JPY 89,800 / USD 970) and NEC PCE-LD1; plays Mega Drive cartridges, Mega-CD discs, CD+G and MEGA-LD LaserDisc software. Includes a LaserActive-branded 6-button pad CPD-S1 (sold separately JPY 2,500); extension cable ETC-S1 JPY 1,500 (ja.wikipedia). Cartridges are inserted label-side down (ja.wikipedia).
