Japan-only generation. i.LINK (IEEE 1394) port and a 16-bit PC Card slot (for the Network Adaptor/HDD, exclusive to this and the SCPH-30000 series) on the back; approx. 301x78x182mm, ~2.4kg, ~50W. Colour Charcoal Black (changed from the PS1's grey). SCPH-10000/15000 are the only models bundled with a PS2 memory card. DVD playback on SCPH-10000/15000 required installing a DVD-player program from the bundled utility disc onto a memory card first (this could briefly be tricked into playing out-of-region DVDs before a player update); SCPH-18000 has the DVD player built in and ships with a remote + IR receiver.
