PlayStation 2

The PlayStation 2 is a home console from Sony Computer Entertainment. It was first released in Japan on 4 March 2000, in North America on 26 October, in Europe on 24 November and in Australia on 30 November 2000.

In our catalog the original fat consoles are split by series, from the SCPH-10000 launch generation through SCPH-30000, SCPH-37000, SCPH-39000 and SCPH-50000, followed by the slimline models (SCPH-70000 to 79000) and the final SCPH-90000 of 2007. The PSX (DESR-5000 and 7000), a DVD recorder combined with a PlayStation 2, is included too. The limited colours Silver, Sakura and Aqua marked 50 million units shipped in 2003. Accessories include the 8 MB MagicGate memory card, EyeToy, Multitap and the Network Adaptor with a 40 GB hard drive.

The Network Adaptor and the hard drive fit the expansion bay of the fat models, which the slimline lacks. A component AV cable is needed for progressive-scan output.
