Metallic dark blue shell (same family as NA/EU 'Cobalt'). AGS-001 tells: label on the underside reads AGS-001; frontlit screen looks light grey when switched off; small button between the hinges toggles the front light on/off (sun icon).

Official Nintendo JP product page lists this colour with product code AGS-S-ZBA(JPN) and release date. JP launch price 12,500 yen (tax excl.); price cut 2004-09-16 to 9,800 yen per ja.wikipedia (Nintendo's archived page shows 9,333 yen tax excl.). Western equivalent is sold as Cobalt.
