We don’t make things up.The Dual Analog Controller (SCPH-1150 in Japan, SCPH-1180 in the United States, and SCPH-1180e in Europe) is Sony's first handheld analog controller for the PlayStation, and the predecessor to the DualShock; the first analog controller was the PlayStation Analog Joystick (SCPH-1110). It was also the first controller in the PlayStation family of video game consoles to support force feedback in games, but only on the Japanese-market controller; this functionality was later implemented in the DualShock, which was released internationally.

Sony's first handheld dual-analog-stick controller with a Digital / Analog / Analog-Flightstick (PlayStation Analog Joystick emulation) mode switch. Japan SCPH-1150 (1997-04-25) has a single vibration motor (first PlayStation-brand force-feedback controller); the overseas SCPH-1180 (US, 1997-08-27) and SCPH-1180e (Europe, September 1997) shipped without the vibration motor, though the mounting/circuitry for it is present. Discontinued in all regions in 1998, replaced by DualShock.
