The sixth numbered entry in the Ys series, it was Falcom's first new numbered installment since Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand in 1995 and its first original numbered Ys developed for Windows. Set three years after Ys V, the game follows adventurer Adol Christin after he is swept through the Great Vortex of Canaan and stranded among the Canaan Islands.
